The Types of Downtime Causes

Planned Downtimes

Represented by the icon with the arrow up

Are all those stops that were according to the normal schedule, such as lunch, breaks, machine set-up, cleaning.

Those stops DO NOT affect the OEE metrics since they were planned to last a certain amount of time, HOWEVER the extra time taken to do those taks will be counted as Unplanned.

For example: Lunch was supposed to last a planned downtime of 45 mins, however it is taken 50 or 55 mins, those extra 5 or 10 minutes more will not be planned and will need an extra justification.

Once the reason is selected and submitted a Planned downtime will be marked at the timeline in a dark green colour.

Unplanned Downtimes

Represented by the icon with the arrow down

Are all those stops that were NOT according to the planned schedule, such as machine breaks, no material, etc.

Those stops WILL affect the OEE metrics since are unforeseen stops that affect the Overall Efficiency.

For example: A Machine stoped working cause something got stucked.

Once the reason is selected and submitted an Unplanned downtime will be marked at the timeline in a dark red colour

Shift Early Finish = No Production*

Isolated at the top of the Reasons' Menu, this cause will appear at the end of a shift or with an ongoing downtime. It is intended to be used only when the production is finished and the scheduled time of a shift is not over yet.

For example: The overtime shift was supposed to last 4 hours but the team fisnished the production 2 hours before the end of the shift.

Once the reason is selected and submitted a No Production downtime will be marked at the timeline in a gray colour till the next Shift.

This downtime WON'T affect your OEE or OOE measurements. ERASING ALL the data of the selected period.

Note it is NOT retroactive action once it is selected and submited
